Lakhimpur Police arrested two persons and seized a sizeable quantity of suspected heroin from their possession in Banderdewa.
The police team was led by Officer-in-Charge of Bihpuria Police Station Hiranya Pator and Inspector-in–Charge of Banderdewa Police Outpost Madan Kalita.
The team conducted an operation in which they apprehended Md. Khabiruddin of Karimganj and Lilbanu of Kharupetia along with 48.5 grams of suspected heroin.
The duo was travelling from Dimapur in Nagaland with the banned substances and was staying at a lodge in Banderdewa.
They were planning to enter Arunachal Pradesh to sale the substances, the police said.
