A total of 81 Covid-19 positive cases have been detected in Nagaland on Thursday, taking the State’s tally to 6,244.

Principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha, in his briefing, said of the 81 new cases, 57 are in Dimapur, 20 in Kohima, two in Mokokchung and one each in Longleng and Mon.

Out of the total 6,244 positive cases, 5,094 have recovered so far. The total active cases are 1,078 and there have been 12 deaths.

As per the severity of symptoms, 1,044 active cases are asymptomatic, 32 mild and two moderate, Sinha said.

Among the total positive cases, 2,974 from the armed forces/ police, 1,501 are returnees, 1,423 traced contacts and 346 frontline workers.

Sinha said altogether 51,305 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 50,330 samples have been received.

He said a total of 28,395 samples have been also sent for testing on Truenat and results of 28,319 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test 1,777 samples have been tested, he stated.

Meanwhile, the Nagaland government on Thursday passed an order saying that the existing guidelines with regard to the lockdown/ unlock in all parts of the State issued on August 31 will continue to remain operative in Nagaland till further orders.
