In an incident of thievery, properties worth in lakhs along with cash were stolen from Sarawagi Sanitary and Hardware located at JK Kedia Road opposite of Vishal Mega Mart, Hojai.

The incident came to light when the staff of the shop opened it on Tuesday morning.

As soon as the staff noticed the things scattered everywhere, he immediately informed the shop’s proprietor Praveen Sarawagi.

Sarawagi rushed to the establishment and immediately informed the police.

A team of Hojai Police reached the spot and started the investigation.

Later, Hojai Police Station Officer-in-charge Gautam Kumar also reached the spot and inspected the shop.

Reportedly, the incident of burglary happened on Monday wee hours, whereby the thieves broke a small cemented ventilator at the back of godown of the shop and entered the shop by breaking the back lock.

In an FIR Sarawagi informed that Rs 75,000 cash along with hardware goods worth Rs 35,000, one new bicycle worth 4,000, cheque book and some documents are missing from the shop.

Till the filing of the report no one was apprehended in this case and the case is being investigated by the police.
