A truck driver from Assam has been shot dead on Tuesday near the IMC Hall in Dimapur.
According to reports, the trucker has been identified as 31-year-old Jiten Gogoi, who hailed from Dhemaji district in Assam.
Police said the incident took place around 2.30 am.
The body was recovered in the morning around 7 am.
According to T Reo Aye, the public relations officer of Dimapur Police, the miscreants involved in the incident are yet to be identified.
Police further informed that the trucker was shot with a .22 pistol from a close range.
The truck was reportedly carrying essential commodities.
A case has been registered at the West Police Station in Dimapur.
