Rotract District 3240 on Monday conducted the last phase of its flood relief campaign in West Karbi Anglong district.
In July, Rotract District 3240 started Sahayata to help the flood-affected people of Assam.
“A total of 5 phases were conducted in Bongaigaon, Kamrup Rural, Morigaon, Hajo and West Karbi Anglong districts,” Rtr. Tushar Jalan, District Rotaract Representative, informed.
This was the final phase where essential items were donated to Rupathithi Shankar Dev Shishu Niketan in West Karbi Anglong, which was devastated by Assam floods, said a Rotract District statement.
The donated items included bookshelf, chairs, tables, multipurpose boards, dust-free chalk, markers, water filters, dustbin, LED tube lights and fans.
Prabhat Kumar Kedia (Past District Governor), Amit More (Assistant Governor), Tushar Jalan (Rotaract District Head) along with other members were present at the distribution event.
As many as 1,200 families across Assam were benefited by the Assam District Flood initiative of Rotaract District 3240 – Sayhata.
The project was supported by Rotaract District 3170, 3080, 3040.
Rotaract Club – Navi Mumbai Sunrise, Shatabdi Elite, Presidency, Bhubaneswar, Calcutta Metropolitan, Gitanjali Kolkata supported the initiative.
Besides, Rotary Club of Guwahati Luit and Dadra and Nagar Haveli also supported the project.
The project had a special assistant parker in the form of a local organization – Progotishil.
District Rotaract Representative Tushar Jalan thanked all the partners and assured that Rotaract District 3240 would continue to help the people of Assam in their time of need.
He appreciated the dedication, passion of young members for coming out during the Coronavirus epidemic and serving society.
Rotract District 3240 stated after having 5-phase relief camps, all their members from different clubs were safe and no one suffered from Coronavirus due to special precautions taken by the RID 3240.
