Manipur on Saturday completed a total of 2 lakh COVID-19 tests, the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) on COVID-19 stated.
As on Saturday, the cumulative number of test results for COVID-19 received was 2,06,986 while the cumulative number of persons screened at various entry points of the state was 3,69,450, the IDSP report said.
The first COVID-19 case in the state was reported on March 24 while the first death due to COVID-19 was reported on July 29.
Meanwhile, with the expiry of three more persons, the COVID-19 death tally rose to 55 on Saturday, officials said.
It may be mentioned here that in the last 24 hours, 116 persons (64 male 52 female) from the general population and 1 (one) from central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new COVID-19, the release added.
Five persons out of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest 111 are locals without any significant travel history.
They are being shifted to the COVID care facilities, the release added.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
On the other hand, 94 persons were discharged from seven COVID Care facilities after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test in the past 24 hours, it said.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 8,724 while the cumulative number of recovered cases is 6,723, it added. The number of active cases is 1,946.
The recovery rate is 77.06 per cent
