Assam tested a total of 35175 persons for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, out of which 2595 people have tested positive for the deadly virus on Saturday.
With a positivity rate of 7.38 per cent, the total COVID-19 cases in Assam now stands at 155453.
Among the new cases recorded on Saturday, Kamrup (Metro) reported 553 cases, Jorhat 205 cases, Lakhimpur 199 cases and Golaghat 173 cases.
Till the filing of this report, 123684 patients were discharged from the various hospital across the state and the total active cases stand at 31218.

Earlier, on the day, eight persons succumbed to the infection taking the COVID-19 fatality tally in Assam up to 548.
The deceased have been identified as Dipanjali Senapatu (45) of Majuli, Kulendra Gohain (51) of Lakhimpur, Biren Hazarika (50) of Dibrugarh, Gunin Bharali (73) of Golaghat, Gulapi Bharali (62) of Sivasagar, Rafikuddin Ahmed (70) of Kamrup, MD Ali (64) of Chirang and Aynal Haque Miah (61) of Goalpara.
