BJP MP Pradan Baruah, who was in Delhi to attend the Monsoon session of Parliament, which began on Monday, has tested positive for COVID-19.
Baruah, who represents the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha seat in North Assam, went through a test for COVID-19 in the national capital and was found to be positive, party sources said.
The Monsoon session started on Monday and COVID tests have been made mandatory for those attending it.
Sources said Baruah is currently in home isolation at his Delhi residence.
Earlier two other saffron party MPs from Assam tested positive for the virus.
While BJP MP Topon Kumar Gogoi, who represents Jorhat constituency tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday night while his party colleague and MP from Mangaldoi seat, Dilip Saikia tested positive for the virus on Thursday.
Three parliamentarians, including BJP Rajya Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, and 25 legislators, including former chief minister Tarun Gogoi, have so far tested positive for Covid-19 in the state.
