Two more persons succumbed to COVID-19 infection in Kokrajhar district, the district commissioner informed on Thursday.

Talking to Northeast Now, Kokrajhar deputy commissioner Bhaskar Phukan informed that the deceased have been identified as Raju Kumar Basumatary (45) and Abdul Jalil (35).

Basumatary was a resident of Sesapani village and he had tested COVID-19 positive on September 9.

Meanwhile, Jalil was a resident of Tintila Salkocha and he expired on September 9 morning.

On the other hand, as many as 83 new COVID-19 cases were reported from the district on Thursday.

A total of 933 people carried out Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on Thursday.

Kokrajhar district so far has reported 2426 COVID-19 cases and 18 people have succumbed to the infection.
