Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday assured that around 80 to 100 projects would be launched during March 1 to 15 as part of the first anniversary celebration of the BJP-led State Government in the State.

N Biren Singh made the assurance while interacting with media on the sidelines of Hill Leaders’ Day and Meeyamgi Numit at his office.

The Chief Minister also said Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh would visit the State on March 14 to attend the anniversary celebration that falls on March 15.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to visit the state to lay the foundation stone for Sports University, inaugurate ministerial block of civil secretariat, Dolaithabi and Thoubal projects among others.

Biren Singh also said the Prime Minister may also lay the foundation stone for the construction of Regional Football Academy.

He also stated that the State Government would install flood lights and upgrade the seating arrangement at the Khuman Lampak main stadium soon.

The Chief Minister attended to as many as about 380 complaints and personally met nearly 800 people from 9 am to 1 pm on Monday.

The Chief Minister also said that after the launch of new welfare and health schemes for disabled persons and needy people, the number of complaints on Meeyamgi Numit and Hill Leaders’ Day has reduced drastically and it is a ‘sign of positive change in the State’.

Stating that he would continue to hold Meeyamgi Numit and Hill Leaders’ Day until the problems faced by the people aren’t solved, Biren Singh said such meetings offer an opportunity to listen to the grievances and problems faced by the people personally.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also directed the State bank of India (SBI) officials to offer loans to needy and poor people and also asked the officials to ease the loan disbursement process.
