Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has expressed concern about Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abeโ€™s declining health, which made him resign.

The Dalai Lama further said that he has great respect for Shinzo Abeโ€™s leadership.

โ€œI pray that your treatment will be successful,โ€ the Dalai Lama wrote.

โ€œIt is admirable that you have considered the greater good of the country and decided to step down from the position of Prime Minister in order to receive medical attention,โ€ he added.

โ€œI have great respect for your leadership and dedication to the service of others.โ€
