Three more positive patients succumbed to COVID19 infections in Assam, taking the state’s death toll to 289.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Saturday said: “Sad to share the demise of three #COVID patients today.”
The COVID19 victims have been identified as 76-year-old Dipali Bhuyan from Dibrugarh; 57-year-old Dharam Nath Singh from Tinsukia and 54-year-old Anjit Kumar Nath from West Karbi Anglong.
“My condolences with the bereaved family & friends,” health minister Sarma added.

Assam so far has registered a total of 1,01,367 COVID19 positive cases.
A total of 81,070 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have recovered from the disease.
With the demise of 3 more patients, Assam currently has 20,005 active cases.
On Friday, Assam recorded 2,560 new COVID19 positive cases, out of 40,102 tests.
A total of 1,763 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam on Friday.
Assam’s positivity rate stands at 6.38%.
