A 20-year-old girl was rescued by the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Friday night from a sex racket allegedly running in a house in Rohini.
The rescued girl had dialled the DCW’s 181 helpline number seeking help.
On receiving the call the DCW team immediately got into action and reached the spot and rescued the girl.
As per the girl, she was lured with a promise of a high paying job by one of her old acquaintances.
However, she was instead pushed into flesh trade.
“He told me that he could help me earn easy money using a shortcut. I agreed and came with him to this house on August 26. Once I was here, I realised that I was pushed to sex working,” the girl said to the DCW team.
She was further told to engage in physical relationships with several clients visiting the house on a daily basis.
The man told her that she would be paid Rs 1,000 per client.
However, when she protested, she was threatened, beaten up and locked inside the house.
The DCW team reached the given address along with the police and found that there were three girls and some men inside the house apart from the main perpetrator Jitesh- who fled the scene while his partner was nabbed.
The 20-year-old girl who had called DCW for help was rescued and all other people present at the spot were taken to the police station.
An FIR has been registered and three accused have been arrested
Meanwhile, the police are trying to arrest Jitesh who is still at large.
The survivor was taken for a medical examination after her statement was recorded.
