Manipur has registered 140 new COVID19 positive cases in the state, taking the total tally to 5,725, the state health department said.
The total number of recovered cases in Manipur has reached 3,957.
According to the state health department, 122 persons (75 male, 47 female)from the general population and 18 from the central armed police force (CAPF) were confirmed positive.
The positive cases are from VRDLs of RIMS, JNIMS, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Imphal East, Imphal West RAT, IRL, Kangpokpi, Shija hospital, Bishnupur, Babina Diagnostics, Raj Medicity, Advance hospital, and Ukhrul.
The infected patients are from Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Ukhrul, Senapati, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, Bishnupur, and Chandel.
Three persons out of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest 119 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to COVID care facilities, the health department added.
The cumulative number of deaths due to COVID 19 and other co-morbid health conditions in the state is 25.
In the past 24 hours, 128 persons were also discharged after recovery.
The cumulative number of recovered cases now stands at 3,957.
The number of active cases is 1, 743.
The recovery rate is 69.11%, the state health department further said.
