Nagaland has registered 51 new COVID19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s overall tally to 3,686.
The detection of the new positive cases has been confirmed by Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom in two tweets on Sunday.
Health minister Phom in his latest said two more positive cases have been reported from Zunheboto district.
“Another two more positive cases have been reported from Zunheboto,” health minister Phom tweeted.
The health minister informed that Nagaland currently has 1,504 active COVID19 cases.
A total of 2,166 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have recovered from the disease.
Informing this, Phom said, “The state has 1504 active cases with 2166 recoveries out of total 3,686 positive cases.”
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 8 positive patients in the state so far.
The health minister has requested the people to wear masks and maintain social distance to avoid infection.
Another two more positive cases have been reported from Zunheboto.

In an earlier tweet in the afternoon, health minister Phom said: “49 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed out of 916 samples tested.”
Of the 49 new positive cases, 31 cases have been reported from Kohima district, 10 have been reported from Dimapur, 5 cases have been detected in Mon, 2 in Tuensang, and 1 case has been detected in Mokokchung district.
“Necessary contact tracing has been activated and all primary contacts are under self-isolation,” Phom said.
