Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has impressed the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team director K George John by his selfless act of giving his comfortable business class seat for him while going on a flight to the United Arab Emirates for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

John, while describing the incident on his official Twitter handle, said how Dhoni told him to sit in his business class seat while he himself sat in economy class.

Dhoni, who is the captain of CSK team had a first-class seat while most other members had an economy class seat.

However, when Dhoni noticed that the team director who was struggling to sit comfortably in the economy class seat due to his long legs, decided to generously offer his business class seat to him.

Sharing this incident on Twitter, John tweeted, “When a man who’s seen it all, done it all in Cricket tells you, ‘Your legs are too long, sit in my seat (Business Class), I’ll sit in Economy.’ The skipper never fails to amaze me. @msdhoni”.

 

The team director also posted a video where Dhoni can be seen chatting with Suresh Raina and his other CSK teammates on the flight to UAE.

Dhoni, his team, and team officials from the franchise left for the United Arab Emirates on Friday after finishing their six-day training camp in Chennai.

He announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15 but will continue to lead CSK in the IPL.

Dhoni on Thursday shared a letter sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulating him for his remarkable contributions towards Indian cricket.

Modi lauded Dhoni for being one of the most successful captains, instrumental in taking India to the top of the world charts.

“Your name will go down in history as being one of the world’s batting greats, among the greatest cricketing captains and certainly one of the best wicketkeepers the game has seen,” Modi wrote in the letter.
