Mizoram has registered 8 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 903.

According to the latest report, shared by the directorate of information & public relations (DIPR), Mizoram, of the total positive cases registered in the state so far, 747 are males and 156 are females.

As per the DIPR report, out of the total 8 new cases, Aizawl district has reported 5 cases, Kolasib district has reported 2 positive cases and 1 new case has been detected in Serchhip district.

While 6 COVID19 positive cases have been confirmed in the RT-PCR test at Zoram Medical College (ZMC), 2 other cases have been confirmed during Rapid Antigen Test.

With new positive cases, Mizoram currently has 483 active COVID19 cases while 2 positive cases migrated from the state.

So far, a total of 420 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals or Covid Care Centres after their recovery.

Mizoram has no reported any COVID19 death till date.

India on Saturday reported its highest single-day spike of 69,878 COVID19 positive cases, taking the total tally close to 30 lakh.

The country’s total death toll stands at 55,794, the Union health ministry said.
