Rail services were stalled in Tripura since Tuesday morning after hundreds of villagers in Dolubari under Panisagar sub division in North Tripura staged blockade in railway route.

Notably, the railway route bisected the area but despite of several demands no railway overbridge were constructed here.

Accordingly the locals gave an ultimatum to the concerned authority to decide on the construction of the level-crossing within August 11.

However, as nothing progressed till Monday, the villagers staged blockade in the area between Piller No 57/6 and 57/7 disrupting the railway services.

Huge police, including RPF are deployed at the spot but the villagers are adamant to their decision and will not withdraw their agitation untill further progress in the construction of the railway overbridge.
