A total of 194 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have recovered from the disease in Meghalaya, the chief minister mentioned in his tweet.
The dease has so far claimed the lives of 5 persons including an infant from Arunachal Pradesh.
meanwhile, a 47-year-old woman, who tested positive for COVID19, died at NEIGRIHMS on Tuesday.
However, she died of kidney ailment and not due to COVID19 infection, said Meghalaya director of health services (MI), Dr. Aman Warr on Tuesday.
Dr. Warr said the patient, the wife of a BSF jawan, was suffering from chronic renal failure and was under dialysis.
The patient could not come for dialysis treatment to NEIGRIHMS due to spike of COVID19 cases in BSF camp, Umpling, Dr. Warr said.
The patient tested positive only after she was admitted to NEIGRIHMS, Dr Warr added.
“The patient was asymptomatic even though she was positive. The patient died of kidney ailment and so it will not be counted as COVID19 death,” Dr. Warr said.
