On the day when Assam’s overall COVID19 tally stands at 33,576, a total of 1,362 patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from various hospitals in the state on Monday.
Sharing the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said: “Discharge Alert. 1362 patients have been discharged today.”
The health minister also said, “Happy to see rising numbers of discharged cases. Salute to the medical team.”
With the release of 1,362 patients, the number of discharged patients in Assam increased to 25,402.
Assam currently has 8,085 active cases.
On Monday Assam registered 1,348 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 33,576.
With the demise of 7 more patients due to COVID19 infections on Monday, the death toll in Assam increased to 86.
The deceased have been identified as Tulsi Prasad Deuri, 59, from Jorhat; Joy Singh Bey, 59, from East K Anglong; Mevina Begum, 26, from Kamrup Metro; Dr GMS Chowdhury, 72, from Dibrugarh; Ajoy Mahato, 35, Puspa Roy, 75 and Dinesh Chandra Das, 50, from Tinsukia district, the health minister informed.
