Two COVID19 positive pregnant ladies successfully delivered two babies, a girl and a boy at Rupnath Brahma Civil Hospital in Kokrajhar district.

The women COVID19 patients are from two different villages in Kokrajhar district – Titaguri Batabari and Kasibari .

Earlier, after tests, pregnant women 32-year-old Runjun Mahanta and 22-year-old Kangana Barman were found positive for COVID19 in the Rupnath Brahma Civil Hospital.

They were found COVID19 positive in Rapid Antigen test.

A team of doctors and nurses decided to conduct cesarean section on the two women who were infected by COVID19 and the pregnant ladies were able to deliver healthy babies.

The mothers and the newborns are stated to be in good condition.

While Runjun Mahanta gave birth to a baby girl, Kangana Barman delivered a baby boy.

Both the babies have tested COVID19 negative.

Surgeon Dr RK Boro, anaesthetist Dr MN Brahma, assistant Urmila Brahma, Rina Daimary, OT assistant Pradip  Narzary and cleaner Rajendra Ashok Basfer were present during the ceaserian.

The people have congratulated the Gynae team of RNB Civil Hospital, Kokrajhar.

After the operations, the doctors and nurses had their swab test for COVID19 and they have been sent for 14-day hotel quarantine and. Their test results are yet to arrive.
