Assam has registered 1,130 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 29,921.
Confirming the news, state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Friday night said out of the new cases detected in Assam on Friday, 417 cases have been reported from Guwahati and 104 cases have been reported from Cachar.
Out of 16,178 samples tested in the last 24 hours, Assam has recorded “low positivity rate of 6.98%”, health minister Sarma said.
With the new cases, the active cases in Assam now stand at 9,143 while a total of 20,699 patients have recovered from the disease while 3 cases migrated from the state.
With the demises of 6 more positive patients on Friday, Assam so far has recorded 76 COVID19 deaths.
