Tripura MLA and party’s state vice-president Rampada Jamatia has tested COVID19 positive on Wednesday.
This has been confirmed by Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet on Wednesday.
Chief minister Deb informed that along with Jamatia, his wife and two of his personal guards have also tested positive for COVID19.
All the four infected have been admitted to the Covid Care Centre (CCC) and the specialised doctors’ team if taking care of them, the chief minister further said.
“MLA & Tripura BJP Vice President Shri Rampada Jamatia, his wife and his 2 PG found COVID-19 #POSITIVE. They have been admitted to CCC & team of specialised doctors are taking care of them,” chief minister Deb tweeted.
“I pray to Mata Tripurasundari for their speedy recovery,” Deb added.

The MLA, who is from Gomati district, has been brought to Agartala along with the others, sources said.
The process has been started to identify those who came close to the MLA.
Sources said the MLA has shown COVID19 symptoms.
With Jamatia testing positive for COVID19, Tripura has reported the first case of an MLA being infected by the virus.
