Considering the acute shortage of infrastructure to deal with the increasing COVID19 positive patients, the Darrang district administration has decided to turn Kendriya Vidyalaya Mangaldai into a Covid Care Centre.

The Darrang district administration on Monday started preparation to transform the existing well-equipped building of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Mangaldai to a Covid Care Centre.

Informing this, the district public relation officer (DIPRO) of Darrang, quoting deputy commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah, in a press communique said the Covid Care Centre will accommodate 100 to 150 beds and will deal with only asymptomatic COVID19 patients.

The Darrang district health department has arranged 150 beds in different hospitals of the district to treat COVID19 positive cases.

However, with the alarming rise in the number of COVID19 positive cases, such arrangements have turned out to be too short compelling the authorities to shift the patients to hospitals and COVID Care Centres in other adjoining districts.
