Good days are ahead of the people who are missing their daily quota of whiskey or Rum every evening in Guwahati.
Assam chief secretary Kumar Sanjak Krishna on Saturday announced that wine shops across Guwahati will open from Monday.
However, the wine shop owners will have to ensure social distancing during the business hours in Guwahati.
In addition to social distancing, the wine shop owners will have to keep hand sanitizers at the counters.
Wine shops in Guwahati were closed on June 28 after Assam government had announced lockdown to control the community spread of COVID19.
“This is definitely good news for all of us,” Ramen Das, manager of a Guwaati-based wine shop, said.
However, bars will remain closed in Guwahati.
