Total COVID-19 cases in Sikkim rose to 254 after at least 32 people tested positive for coronavirus on Friday, an official said.
Sikkim on Thursday conducted 433 RT-PCR tests, out of which 29 samples tested positive for COVID-19, the official further added.
The official further added that five others were also found infected by the virus by rapid-antigen testing at the Rangpo border check post.
“Out of these five, two persons were security personnel of a bank travelling in a cash van for ATMs in Sikkim,” the official added.
The two men were sent back to Siliguri in West Bengal, while the remaining three were admitted to Isolation Ward of the STNM Hospital in Gangtok
As of now, Sikkim has 166 active cases, while 88 others have been cured of the disease.
