Manipur education minister Dr Thokchom Radheshyam Singh and officials of education department COHSEM declared the results.

A total of 86 per cent students qualified in the class 12 board exam, highest in three years, results of which were declared on Friday by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM).

Archana Hijam has topped the examination with 485 marks (97 per cent) in science stream.

In arts stream, Kh Menaka of TG Higher Secondary School in Imphal bagged the first position while Vikash Paonam of Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School Sangakpam and Ph Firoj of CC Higher Secondary School were adjudged second and third position respectively.

In Commerce stream, Justina Y of TG Higher secondary school topped while Kanonbala Y of SDJM Higher secondary school and Th Pathousana Luwang of Sangai Higher secondary school were the second and third position holders.

The pass percentage of girl students is higher than the boys in arts and commerce streams whereas pass percentage of boys is higher than girls in science stream results.

Manipur education minister Dr Thokchom Radheshyam Singh and officials of education department COHSEM declared the results of the higher secondary examination 2020 by officially releasing the result books.

On the improvement in results this year as compared to previous years’ results, the Minister Dr Radheshyam said that the credit has to go to the students as they have given all the efforts and dedications.

There have been some changes in the system, the students were motivated and realized the importance of proper education and did well in the exams, he added.

A total of 29,144 enrolled for the class 12 examination 20202 but 29,072 of them appeared in the COHSEM conducted examination.

The examination was started from February and it was scheduled to complete in March 2020.

But two subjects of the examination was rescheduled on July 6 and 7,2020 in view of the nationwide lockdown to prevent spread of COVID 19 pandemic.
