With the discharge of 49 persons after they tested negative, the recovery rate of the COVID-19 patients in Manipur has increased to 64 percent on Thursday.
In the past 24 hours, 49 persons have been discharged from COVID care centres at Meitram in Imphal West(18), Senapati(8),Tamenglong(9), Ukhrul (12)and COVID care facilities of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (2) after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test, according to an official press release.
On the other hand 64 including 48 male and 19 females were confirmed as new COVID 19 cases, said Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional director, state health department in a press release on Thursday night.
They belong to the districts of Churachandpur (5), Imphal West (33), Kakching (1), Kamjong (1) Tamenglong (3), Senapati (11), Ukhrul (9) and Thoubal (1).
“All (except one volunteer from ITI, quarantine centre Lilong, Thoubal) are returnees from other states,” the release said.
“All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing tracking are in place.”
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state is 1764.The number of active and recovered cases is 635 and 1129 respectively.
