The Congress on Tuesday removed Sachin Pilot as the deputy chief minister of Rajasthan after he revolted against the party.
Two ministers who joined him in his revolt have also been dropped.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said Sachin Pilot was “ensnared” by the BJP to bring down the Congress government in Rajasthan.
“We have given Sachin Pilot many opportunities. He has been an MP and MoS and a state party president. I am sad that Sachin Pilot and some of his colleagues have fallen for a trap laid by the BJP. This is unacceptable,” he said.
Pilot skipped the second meeting of Congress party MLAs in two days.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot went to inform the Governor about the sacking of three ministers.
According to reports, the decision regarding the disqualification of rebel MLAs to be taken by the party while adding that there are no plans of an MLA parade as the party is confident about its numbers.
Earlier, Congress MLAs proposed a resolution to issue show-cause notice against all those who skipped today’s CLP meeting.
In the meeting of the legislature party, state in-charge Avinash Pandey agreed to take action by raising the hands of the MLAs.
