Mizoram has registered 4 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 231.

The infected patients have been identified as National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel from various states including Assam, Manipur, Haryana and Andhra Pradesh posted at Lungverh in Aizawl.

According to the latest data on COVID19, prepared by the directorate of the information & public relations (DIPR), Mizoram and shared by chief minister Zoramthanga on his Twitter handle Sunday, the state currently has 81 active cases.

A total of 150 people, who were earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from the hospitals of Mizoram after they recovered from the disease.

The state has not reported any death due to COVID19 infection.

Informing about the 4 new positive cases, the DIPR Mizoram said a total of 94 samples were tested for COVID19 at the Zoram Medical College (ZMC) lab on Sunday, out of which 4 tested positive.

According to the DIPR, the newly-infected patients are NDRF personnel posted at the NDRF camp in Lungverh.

“4 new #COVID19 positive cases confirmed out of 94 samples at ZMC lab on 12.7.2020. The new positive cases are NDRF personnel from Manipur, Assam, Haryana & Andhra Pradesh currently based at NDRF camp, Lungverh,” the DIPR, Mizoram tweeted.
