Meghalaya has registered one more COVID19 positive case, taking the state’s overall tally to 113.
Confirming the news on the detection of a new positive case in the state, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma in a tweet on Thursday said the infected patient is a returnee who came from Delhi to Shillong.

“One more returnee from Delhi to Shillong has tested positive for COVID19,” chief minister Sangma tweeted.
The chief minister also informed that the state currently has 67 active COVID19 cases while 45 people have recovered.

On Thursday, Meghalaya has registered a total of 14 positive cases, including 10 BSF personnel.
In a tweet at 4.21 PM on Thursday, the chief minister informed about the detection of 9 positive cases among BSF personnel in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district.
In the morning on Thursday, the chief minister informed that three persons including one BSF jawan and two other persons, who returned from Bihar and Delhi, tested positive for COVID19.
The chief minister in another tweet said to ensure COVID19 protocols, the “government has decided to impose penalties of Rs. 500 for first time violators” of the norms, which will be “increased to Rs.1,000 for repeat violators”.
“Protocols are enforced to ensure everyone’s safety. I urge everyone to comply,” the chief minister said.
Chief minister Sangma on Thursday reviewed the situation in East Khasi Hills in view of the recent COVID19 case.
He also discussed measures and action to be taken by the government regarding the same.
