Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal have directed CID and forensic experts to assist Udalguri police to investigate the case relating to recovery of the body of Nayantara Sahariah- a school teacher- from a classroom of a private school at Kalaigaon in Udalguri district.
Confirming the development Assam DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta in a tweet stated that police will leave no stone unturned to bring the culprits to book.
Meanwhile, sleuths of CID and forensic experts visited Kalaigaon on Wednesday to assist Udalguri police to resolve the mystery of the case.
On the other hand a number of organizations including Kalaigaon unit of All Assam Students’ Union(AASU),
All Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad(AJYCP), Nari Mukti Sangram Samiti(NMSS) staged a sit-in protest demonstration at Mangaldai-Bhutiachang road demanding arrest of culprits and justice to Nayantara Sahariah and submitted memorandums to Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office.
“We are investigating the matter, and working on clues and disclosing them would be detrimental to the investigation,” said a police officer privy to the case.
Sources said the 52-year-old lady teacher who went for jogging on Monday morning was found dead in the classroom of a private school near about 100 metres from her residence.
Her face was completely distorted and it is suspected that concentrated chemicals were splashed over it while her body was in a semi-naked state.
