Ahmed said despite COVID-19 cases increasing across the State few are not bothered to wear masks and follow social distancing.

He said apart from issuing fines to people, they also create awareness about the virus and the importance of wearing masks and social distancing.

Masks have been made mandatory and are among the key safety protocols in the fight against COVID-19.

Ahmed said collecting fines is not the intention.

“We want to make people realise the necessity of wearing masks and follow social distancing,” he said.
