A total of 12Army personnel have tested positive for COVID-19 in Sikkim

.A COVID-19 health bulletin issued by Director General-cum-Secretary, Health, Pema T Bhutia said that these 12 Army men are primary contacts of one of their colleagues who had tested positive on June 30.

Contact tracing of all secondary contacts is in progress.

With the new cases, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the state has reached to 101.

Currently, there are 35 active cases in the State, who are undergoing treatment at the COVID-19 isolation ward of the STNM Hospital.

The DG-cum-Secretary said that all the patients have been shifted to the Army Hospital at Bagdogra in West Bengal, which is a dedicated COVID-19 hospital for Army personnel.

53 patients have been discharged from hospitals so far after recovery.
