Assam’s COVID-19 tally is galloping towards the, 10,000 mark, with the state recording 365 fresh positive cases on Friday.
Of the positive cases, 134 were from Guwahati city, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
The state has so far recorded a total of 9,799 coronavirus cases, of which 3,455 are active, while the number of those recovered, stood at 6,327.
“Alert ~ 365 new #COVID19+ cases detected today Out of total cases today, 134 were reported from Guwahati City. Take proper precautions & care to stay safe,” Sarma tweeted on Friday night.
Two more persons succumbed to the disease on Thursday, taking the total Covid fatalities in the state to 14.
The situation in Guwahati city has turned critical with 2,184 positive cases reported in the city during last 11 days.
A complete lockdown has been imposed for two weeks since June 28 to contain the spread of the virus.
Assam has so far conducted tests of 4,38,882 samples and results of nearly four lakh samples have been uploaded so far on a dedicated state government website.
