Days after the BJP government in Manipur passed a serious uncertainty of ruling the state, party national president J P Nadda on Thursday assured chief minister N Biren Singh of providing all possible help to strengthen the State Government and party position in Manipur.

Nadda gave this assurance when the chief minister called him in New Delhi on Thursday afternoon.

Sources said Singh briefed Nadda about the overall political situation of the state and BHP’s alliance with the National People’s Party (NPP).

Singh who landed in the national capital on Wednesday met several other senior BJP leaders including home minister Amit Shah.

On Wednesday Singh met BJP national general secretary B L Santosh and thanked him for the support and cooperation in the recently conducted Rajya Sabha election.

BJP’s Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba won the lone RS seat in a dramatic election recently.

Sanajaoba (48) edged past T Mangi Babu of the Congress by four votes.

On Wednesday chief minister Singh called on home minister Amit Shah and thanked him for his support.
