Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi on Wednesday unveiled a plaque to mark the inauguration of a Capacity Development Centre in Oncology of Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati.
The centre has been constructed with a financial outlay of Rs four crore which has been donated by the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited as a part of its corporate social responsibility.
The Governor while unveiling the plaque acknowledged the services being rendered by Dr B Borooah Cancer institute in giving quality cancer care to the patients belonging to the north-eastern region and elsewhere.
He also said the new centre would help the institute in giving cancer care in line with the advanced oncological treatment protocols.
He also hailed director of the institute Dr A C Kataki and his team of dedicated medical and paramedical professionals for giving round the clock state-of-the-art cancer care to the people of the region.
Director of Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute Dr Amal Kataki was present on the occasion.
