Assam has registered 246 more COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s total tally to 7,165.
This was confirmed by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status.
“Alert ~ 246 new #COVID19+ cases detected in Assam today,” health minister Sarma said.
With the new cases, Assam currently has 2,338 active cases.
Earlier, a total of 4,814 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 10 persons in Assam while 3 cases have migrated from the state.
“Total cases 7165. Recovered 4814. Active cases 2338. Deaths 10,” health minister Sarma said.

On Saturday, 567 patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, were discharged from various civil, district and model hospitals across Assam.
Sharing the good news on his Twitter handle on Saturday night, health minister Sarma said with release the 567 patients, Assam has achieved the recovery rate of 69.57%.
“Discharge Alert. It gives me immense pleasure to share that 567 more patients have been discharged today,” health minister Sarma tweeted, adding, “With this, we have touched the impressive recovery rate of 69.57%.”
