Assam COVID19

At a time when the number of COVID19 positive cases registered in Assam has touched the 6,919-mark, 567 other patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, were discharged from various hospitals across the state on Saturday.

Sharing the good news on his Twitter handle on Saturday night, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said with release the 567 patients, Assam has achieved the recovery rate of 69.57%.

“Discharge Alert. It gives me immense pleasure to share that 567 more patients have been discharged today,” health minister Sarma tweeted, adding, “With this, we have touched the impressive recovery rate of 69.57%.”

Now the total number of discharged COVID19 patients in Assam has increased to 4,814 and currently the active cases in the state stand at 2,092.

“Total Discharged Patients – 4814. Active Patients – 2092,” Sarma added.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 10 persons in Assam while 3 cases have migrated from the state.

India created another unenviable record of registering highest single-day spike in COVID19 cases with over 18.5 thousand cases registered in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday.

Union Health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Saturday underlined that India has 58% recovery rate from the disease, which translates to close to 3 lakh recoveries out of the total caseload of 5,08,953 recorded so far since the outbreak.
