Manipur reported five new positive cases of COVID 19 without travel history including two medical officers, one nurse from district hospital in Bishnupur and two nurses from a quarantine centre in Churachandpur district, official sources said on Monday.
However there is no report of community transmission, according to a press release issued by COVID 19 Common control room of the State.
The cumulative number of health care workers positive is six and active is five.

In the last 24 hours, 57 persons including 41 male, 16 females were confirmed as new COVID 19 positive cases from the Virus Research & Diagnosis Laboratory (VRDL) of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS -18) and Jawaharlal Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS -39),the release said.
They are from the districts of Bishnupur (3), Chandel (210), Churachandpur (8), Imphal East (1), Kakching (10), Kamjong (3), Kangpokpi (2), Tamenglong (4), Thoubal(1) and Senapati (4).
It stated 52 of them are returnees from other states.
They are being shifted to the COVID Care Facilities.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
The total numbers of positive and active cases are 898 and 648 respectively.
On the other hand sources from Bishnupur district said so far samples from 13 staff of district hospital have been tested for COVID 19 while the positive staff of the district hospital who are asymptomatic.
They have been transferred to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences for further management.
It may be mentioned that the district hospital Bishnupur was converted to COVID 19 ward on June 8 when 34 inmates of Diligent high school Moirang become positive for COVID 19.
The number of COVID 19 positive cases is increasing in the state after the state authority conducted more than 1000 tests in an average on a daily basis.
