The Health and Family Welfare Training Centre of the Nagaland government located at Chumukedima here has been converted into a Covid-19 care centre.
Dimapur deputy commissioner Anoop Kinchi activated the 93-bed centre on Monday.
Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR), Dimapur, in collaboration with the health and family welfare department, will take care of the centre.
In his address, Kinchi said the Covid care centre will be a place between hospital and quarantine centre. Saying that the Covid-19 recovery rate in the state is more than 66 per cent, he acknowledged the selfless sacrifices of the medical staff and policemen.
Kinchi said the government and private doctors are working day and night taking care of all the 67 quarantine centres in Dimapur.
“I salute them,” he said. He further said the police personnel and the employees from various departments are rendering tireless services in the fight against the pandemic.
“Dimapur has been doing fine thus far as all are working with unity and cooperation,” he added.
Dimapur commissioner of police Rothihu Tetseo, Dimapur chief medical officer Dr Tiasunep Pongener and director, CISHR, Dr Sedevi Angami and medical surgeon, Dimapur District Hospital, Dr Kheshito Zhimomi were also present on the occasion.
Tetseo said working together in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic is an opportunity for contributing something towards the society.
“Let’s all continue to work together,” he appealed.
