The total number of COVID-19 cases in Manipur increased to 777 while the active cases rose to 545, stated a government release on Saturday.

The COVID-19 control room of the state government informed that 96 persons including 64 males and 32 females were COVID-19 cases of the state.

The cases were confirmed by the Virus Research & Diagnosis Laboratory (VRDL) of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) are 46) and that by the Jawaharlal Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS ) is 50 in the last 24 hours.

Of the patients, 13 are from Bishnupur, two from Imphal East, 5 from Kakching 6 from Kamjong, 22 from Kangpokpi, 1 from Tamenglong, 12 from Senapati and 4 from Ukhrul districts.

Moreover, the returnees are being shifted to the COVID Care Facilities.

“Necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” the release added.

The release further added that the total numbers of positive and active cases in Manipur are respectively 777 and 545.

“On the other hand, 14 persons have been discharged today from JNIMS (5) and RIMS (9) after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test,” the release added.

It further informed that with a recovery rate of 29.85, a total of 232 persons have recovered from coronavirus infection in the state so far.
