Tripura People’s Front (TPF) blocked the national highway from Monday morning, demanding to hand over Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) administration to Royal Scion Pradyot Deb Barman.
The blockade was staged at Ambasa of Dhalai district on Assam-Agartala national highway.
Hundreds of protesters and TPF workers gathered with flags and festoons, apart from organizing rallies in different places.
It may be mentioned here that TTADC’s tenure had ended on May 17.
However, due to the ongoing lockdown, the election to TTADC has been put on hold and former chief secretary of GK Rao was appointed as the administrator of the council.
“A memorandum was submitted to Tripura Governor on May 23 in this regard,” said TPF president Patal Kanya Jamatia.
