On the day when the total Covid19 positive cases in Assam increased to 3,319, a total of 183 other patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from hospitals in the state.
With the newly-discharged patients, the total number of discharged Covid19 cases in Assam has risen to 1,432 on Thursday.
Sharing the good news on Thursday evening on his Twitter handle on Thursday evening, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the patients have been discharged from various civil, district, and model hospitals in Assam after their recovery.
The total number of active Covid19 cases in Assam now stands at 1,878.
“Discharge Alert. Delighted to share that 183 more patients have been discharged today from various civil, district & model hospitals in Assam. Discharged Patients – 1432. Active Patients – 1878,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 6 persons in Assam while 3 cases have migrated from the state.
In India, the death toll due to Covid19 infection increased to 8,102 and the number of positive cases climbed to 2.87 lakh after it registered the highest single-day spike of 357 fatalities and 9,996 cases on Thursday.
Globally, the disease has affected 7.15 million people so far and the death toll stands at 4.08 lakh.
