A doctor in Tripura tested positive COVID-19- making it the incident of the state in which a medical practitioner was found infected with the virus.
According to the health department, the doctor has been infected with coronavirus as he has been constantly treating COVID-19 patients in the state.
After the incident was reported, the doctor was immediately shifted from the hospital he was working in.
The total number of COVID-19 cases on Tripura now stands at 750 in Tripura.
A total of 55 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the state on Saturday and the total active cases in the state stand at 573.
A total of 470 COVID-19 people are undergoing treatment at the different hospitals in state including GBP Hospital, Covid Care Center at Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel, BSF Hospital in Shalbagan, Army Hospital at Lichubagan and International Fair premises in Hapania.
Moreover, so far 173 people have recovered from the infection and they have returned home.
Three patients have migrated out of the state, while one woman committed suicide and was later found to have COVID-19 positive.
