Meghalaya has registered two more COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 30.
Confirming the news, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma in a tweet on Tuesday said the infected patients are returnees, who recently arrived in the state from Uttar Pradesh.
The chief minister also informed that both of the patients are currently under quarantine at Chibinang in West Garo Hills district.
With the new cases, the total number of active cases registered in Meghalaya stands at 17.
The deadly disease claimed the life of the state’s first positive patient.
A total of 12 COVID19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals in the state after their recovery.
“Two more residents of Meghalaya who had returned from Uttar Pradesh have tested positive for COVID19. Both of them are under quarantine in Chibinang, West Garo Hills District. Total cases: 30 out of which Active cases are: 17,” chief minister Sangma said.
On Tuesday, India’s COVID19 positive cases touched 198,706.
While a total of 95,526 people have been discharged from hospitals across India after their recovery, 5,598 patients have lost their lives due to COVID19 infection.
