Assam has registered 22 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 1,485.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said 3 of the infected patients are air travellers.
The other infected patients are from Kamrup Rural, Morigaon and Goalpara districts.
The health minister informed that while 10 positive cases have been detected in Kamrup Rural district, 6 others are from Morigaon district and 2 are from Goalpara district.
With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam stands at 1,194.
Earlier, a total of 284 COVID19 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 4 persons while 3 cases migrated from the state.

The number of COVID19 positive cases in India has crossed 1.9 lakh mark after a record single-day jump of 8,392 people testing positive for the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
The total cases in India stand at 1,90,535 including 5,394 deaths, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
India has climbed to the seventh position in the list of 10 nations worst affected by the COVID19 pandemic, with more cases than that of France.
