The Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of the Arunachal Pradesh police investigating a case related to land compensation irregularities for the Chaglagam to Rocham road in Anjaw district of the state bordering China has arrested two persons including a government officer in connection with the case.

The SIC team has arrested the then Anjaw additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Sode Potom and Choliangso Kora, a resident of Tezu, in connection with the infamous case.

The team arrested Potom from Likabali, the headquarters of Lower Siang district, where he is currently posted as the ADC, while Kora was picked up by the team from Anjaw.

It is alleged that there were corrupt practices involved in the compensation disbursement by government officials in connivance with some private individuals.

SIC’s superintendent of police Harsha Vardhan said the arrests were made after monetary trails were uncovered by the investigation cell during the ongoing investigation.

“The arrests were made on Saturday and the arrested persons were produced in the court in Tezu on Sunday for obtaining police remand,” the SP said.
