The total number of COVID-19 cases in Assam rose to 856 after 25 new cases were reported in the state on Thursday evening.
In a tweet, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that out of these cases, 13 are from Kamrup (Metro), four from Cachar, three from Dhemaji, three from Barpeta and two from Kokrajhar.

There are 762 active cases and 87 people have recovered so far, while four persons have died of the infection.
A total of 73 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported from Assam on Thursday till the filing of this report and the number is expected to rise later on the day.
