A fake High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination candidate appearing on behalf of a candidate was apprehended on Friday at Mazbat HS School centre.

This was informed by the Inspector of Schools, Udalguri, Bhaben Deuri.

The apprehended fake candidate has been identified as Dhanjyoti Basumatari, a student of Mazbat College. He was later handed over to the police.

In the meantime, the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri through an order has totally banned use of microphones and loud speakers in the whole district with effect from February 16 to March 23 in the interest of the students’ community after the Udalguri District Journalists’ Union submitted a memorandum requesting restriction on speakers during HSLC and Higher Secondary Examination period.

In Karbi Anglong district, a total of 9834 candidates are appearing in the HSLC Examination 2018 while in West Karbi Anglong district there are 10 centres where 4375 candidates have appeared in the examination.

In Karbi Anglong, the centre with the highest number of candidates is Bakalia HS School Centre with 874 candidates while in West Karbi Anglong, the centre with the highest number of candidates is Donkamokam High School Centre with 946 candidates.

In Darrang district, a total of 9997 candidates have appeared in HSLC Examinations in 28 examination centres. In three centres of Mangaldai town namely Mangaldai Town Girls’ HS School, Mangaldai Town High School and Mangaldai Vidyapeeth, altogether 1151 candidates have appeared in the examinations.

In Udalguri district, a total of 10,223 HSLC candidates have appeared in 17 centres in the HSLC examinations.
